Good Weather Clouds, Inishbofin

This was painted en plain air on Inishbofin Island off the Connemara coast, a perfect day for painting.

Looking at this painting of Inishbofin takes me back, starting the day before it was painted! I pack all my painting gear in the car- easel, paints, brushes, palette knives, canvas etc. the hat, snacks, water, sun & midge spray…you’d be amazed! The ferry from Cleggan, the walk across Inishbofin. It’s all worth it when I’m starting to paint. I heard seals barking to each other over the wind, what a sound! Just being out in the sun in this gorgeous landscape as the painting was taking shape felt wonderful.
