I met Yvonne by chance last Summer in Roundstone through a mutual friend and saw some of her work… As it happened, I was the incoming Captain of Howth Golf Club in Dublin and was already thinking of my Captains Prize for 2025. I really wanted to commission a painting of our magnificent golf course yet I had not managed to find an artist I liked… when we were Yvonne’s studio I winked at my wife because we both knew we had found the artist.

Over the next few months Yvonne came to the Club , walked the course with me and suggested a few options through thumbnail sketches… in the end we settled for a less obvious vista, a panorama taking in the city in the background with heather to the fore and the 17th,10th and 2nd greens in view… Yvonne called it ‘Heather’ … a wonderful experience with constant communication and updates and a final painting that truly captures the spirit of Howth, the light, the colours, the contours … a place to lift the soul…a little piece of heaven. 

We had a most delighted Champion Golfer who I know really will get years of enjoyment from this beautiful piece! Thank you so much Yvonne!
